GERD and Upper Aerodigestive Tract Cancer Risk: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, Volume 136, Issue 5, Page 2008-2017, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is highly prevalent, yet its association with upper aerodigestive tract (UADT) cancers beyond esophageal adenocarcinoma remains incompletely defined. This systematic review and meta‐analysis aimed to quantify the risk of specific UADT cancers in individuals with GERD.

High‐Throughput Screening Reveals That CeeNU Acts as a New NLRP3 Inflammasome Inhibitor

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
We conducted a high‐throughput screen of 2747 FDA‐approved drugs to identify inhibitors of pyroptosis. We found that CeeNU significantly repressed NLRP3‐dependent IL‐1β release and GSDMD pore‐forming complex. We identified that the arginine 335 amino acid of the NACHT domain of NLRP3 is the critical point for human NLRP3 and CeeNU interaction and ...

Extrahepatic Gene Editing In Vivo Using Organic Solvent‐Free Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 27, 14 May 2026.
This article highlights a novel, organic solvent‐free lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation that avoids cholesterol, thereby reducing hepatic accumulation and immune activation. These BLNPs enable potent, flexible, and scalable gene delivery, supporting personalized medicine and diverse nucleic acid applications.

Investigating the Therapeutic Potential of Tamarix aphylla Leaf Extract Against Toxicity Caused by Graphene Nanosheets in Cirrhinus mrigala

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
Tamarix aphylla leaf extract significantly alleviated graphene nanosheet–induced toxicity in Cirrhinus mrigala, reducing oxidative tissue damage and restoring organ integrity. Rich in antioxidant compounds, the extract offers a promising natural strategy for mitigating the biological impacts of graphene‐related pollutants.
