Heat and Tectonics of the Canadian Cordillera From the Seismically Constrained Inversion of Gravity Data

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 45, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract An updated approach to seismically constrained modeling of gravity data reveals two broad, NW‐trending low‐density zones in the mantle lithosphere beneath the Canadian Cordillera. The low‐density zones coincide with a shallow lithosphere‐asthenosphere boundary (LAB), a shallow Curie‐point depth, and the location of Quaternary volcanoes.

A Seismically Active Shear Zone in the Uppermost Mantle Beneath the Canadian Rockies

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 1, 16 January 2026.
Abstract Continental mantle earthquakes are uncommon but hold important clues for understanding lithospheric rheology. Few of these earthquakes (<10) have been documented in western North America, though it is likely more exist owing to difficulties in resolving focal depth for small earthquakes.

Linking Geodetically Resolved Uplift to Long‐Term Orogenic Exhumation in the Southern Alps, New Zealand

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract A limitation in our understanding of the geodynamics of orogenies is the difficulty in resolving the spatial variations in long‐term processes such as exhumation of the crust. Although geodesy can record ground motions to millimeter‐scale precision at high spatial and temporal resolutions, these observations only cover a small fraction of the ...

Estructuras sintagmáticas en tesauros : aproximación cualitativa-cuantitativa [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
De los sistemas organizadores del conocimiento, los tesauros se reconocen por ser los construidos bajo pautas más refinadas y elaboradas. Los descriptores y no descriptores de un tesauro se dividen, considerando su estructura morfosintáctica, en dos ...

Secular Evolution of the Seismic Structure of Continental Crust, Archean to Present

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract We summarize the seismic and density structure of continental crust as a function of crustal age and evaluate the secular changes in these physical properties. We subdivide the continental crust into six age provinces, from Archean to Mesozoic‐Cenozoic, and calculate the surface area, mean crustal thickness, volume, mass, and seismic velocity ...

A multidisciplinary study on the location of Roman sites in the southern sub‐plateau of the Iberian Peninsula

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 67, Issue 5, Page 1373-1390, October 2025.
Abstract Architectural and engineering elements of the Roman civilization constitute an important cultural heritage. Nevertheless, not all ancient Roman cities and the roads connecting them have been found, mainly because classical geographical sources show a significant lack of precision.
