Neutronic Analysis of Start-Up Tests at China Experimental Fast Reactor [PDF]

open access: goldEnergies, 2022
The China Experimental Fast Reactor (CEFR) is a small, sodium-cooled fast reactor with 20 MW(e) of power. Start-up tests of the CEFR were performed from 2010 to 2011. The China Institute of Atomic Energy made some of the neutronics start-up-test data available to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as part of an international neutronics ...

EXPERIMENTAL GAS COOLED REACTOR-CREEP TEST, AGOT GRAPHITE [PDF]

open access: green, 1960
Tests were conducted to determine the cumulative and permanent deflection of a beam subjected to two-point loading for (1) ambient temperature- atmospheric environment, and (2) 800 deg F-atmospheric environment, for 8OO psi maximum flexural stresses. Deflection curves are given for five specimens.

Production test-080 - physics tests at D reactor deactivation interim report - experimental data [PDF]

open access: gold, 1967
Production Test-080 authorized the conduct of certain physics tests during the deactivation of D Reactor. The primary objective of the test was to measure certain physics parameters which could be used to check current computational models. In this report are presented a brief chronology of the tests and a tabulation of the experimental data.

Verification of OpenMC for fast reactor physics analysis with China experimental fast reactor start-up tests

open access: diamondNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2022
High-fidelity nuclear data libraries and neutronics simulation tools are essential for the development of fast reactors. The IAEA coordinated research project on “Neutronics Benchmark of CEFR Start-Up Tests” offers valuable data for the qualification of nuclear data libraries and neutronics codes.

DRY BEARING ENDURANCE TEST FOR THE SERVICE MACHINE: EXPERIMENTAL GAS-COOLED REACTOR [PDF]

open access: green, 1960
The concept of operating bearings and gears unlubricated in a helium environment was questioned as to fundamental soundness. Tests were made to determine if immediate gross failure occurs. A bearing of standard manufacture was operated in helium for 42 hr. A high degree of gradual wear was encountered. No gross or sudden failures were found. (W.L.H.)

Design and Experimental Testing of a Combustion Nozzle for Use with a Solar Reactor

open access: greenChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
It is important to have homogenous temperature distribution inside solar receivers and reactors. This paper presents a methodologic adaptation of a burner nozzle for use with a solar receiver to test and compare the performance of mixing effect of the nozzle with that of used in combustion system.
