Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Comparison between ELISA and the Microscopic Agglutination Test for the Diagnosis of Bovine Leptospirosis

open access: yesRevue d’Elevage et de Médecine Vétérinaire des Pays Tropicaux, 2008
An indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was compared with the microscopic agglutination test (MAT) for the diagnosis of bovine leptospirosis. A total of 170 random bovine serum samples were collected from cattle farms in Malaysia. The serum

Emerging insights into CC and CXC chemokines and their receptors in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dual roles of CC and CXC chemokines in distinguishing active, latent, and subclinical tuberculosis were reviewed, along with an evaluation of their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to advance precision medicine in tuberculosis management. The graphical abstract was generated with AI assistance (Gemini 3.0).

Evaluation of ELISA and Brucellacapt tests for diagnosis of human Brucellosis [PDF]

open access: yes
Background and Objectives: Brucellosis is one of the most common zoonotic diseases in Iran and human brucellosis is endemic in all parts of the country. Because of the difficulty in the diagnosis of brucellosis, particularly in endemic areas, the use of ...

CX3CL1 in Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease: Plasma Dynamics Across Age and Disease Stages

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by amyloid‐beta plaques, tau tangles, and neuroinflammation. C‐X3‐C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CX3CL1, also known as fractalkine), a neuroimmune chemokine implicated in AD pathogenesis, shows inconsistent alterations in plasma/serum across studies.

A Leishmania infantum FML-ELISA for the Detection of Symptomatic and Asymptomatic Canine Visceral Leishmaniasis in an Endemic Area of Iran [PDF]

open access: yes
Background: Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is caused by Leishmania infantum in Mediterranean basin and is an endemic disease in some parts of Iran. Canines are the main reservoirs of VL in most of the endemic areas.

Clinical Validation of Plasma p‐217tau in Neurological Diseases

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma p‐217tau is a minimally invasive but specific biomarker for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, its disease specificity remains to be clinically evaluated. We validated the reliability of the p‐217tau biomarker in 12 other neurological diseases.

ALDOA Promotes Glycolysis and NLRP3/GSDMD Pyroptosis to Accelerate ALS Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Glycolytic dysregulation is implicated in disease progression, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how Aldolase A (ALDOA) drives ALS progression through glycolysis‐mediated motor neuron pyroptosis.
