Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Graph kernel extensions and experiments with application to molecule classification, lead hopping and multiple targets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The discovery of drugs that can effectively treat disease and alleviate pain is one of the core challenges facing modern medicine. The tools and techniques of machine learning have perhaps the greatest potential to provide a fast and efficient route ...

GOODAT: Towards Test-Time Graph Out-of-Distribution Detection [PDF]

open access: yes
Graph neural networks (GNNs) have found widespread application in modeling graph data across diverse domains. While GNNs excel in scenarios where the testing data shares the distribution of their training counterparts (in distribution, ID), they often ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Novel Semi-Supervised Hyperspectral Image Classification Based on a Superpixel Graph and Discrete Potential Method

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Hyperspectral image (HSI) classification plays an important role in the automatic interpretation of the remotely sensed data. However, it is a non-trivial task to classify HSI accurately and rapidly due to its characteristics of having a large amount of ...

TESTING MUTUAL DUALITY OF PLANAR GRAPHS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Geometry & Applications, 2013
We introduce and study the problem MUTUAL DUALITY, asking for two planar graphs G1 and G2 whether G1 can be embedded such that its dual is isomorphic to G2. We show NP-completeness for general planar graphs and give a linear-time algorithm for biconnected planar graphs. This algorithm implies an efficient solution to two well-known problems.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...
