ON THE VALIDITY OF THE RORSCHACH TEST
Scandinavian Journal of Psychology, 1965Rorschach protocols of 20 persons (normals, depressives, and schizophrenics) were analysed, using the inverted, or Q, method of factoring. Three factors emerged from the analysis and corresponded to the three psychiatric categories. Groups of items, allegedly measuring the isolated factors, were applied to a second population of 42 persons resulting in

Validity Testing of the accuPINCH THC Test
Journal of Analytical Toxicology, 1995Self-contained drug-testing kits are currently being marketed for a variety of drugs of abuse. These tests are designed to provide rapid access to test results without the need for laboratory facilities. This report describes a validity study of the accuPINCH THC test, a self-contained test for cannabinoids in urine.

Drug Metabolism Reviews, 1990
In summary, the extent of toxicity studies which can be carried out with bound residues of nitroimidazole drugs will be dictated by the availability and the amount of residues that can be produced. For evaluating their toxicity the use of the Salmonella assay, which has been proven to be sensitive for the parent drugs, is proposed.

On Validity Theory and Test Validation
Educational Researcher, 2007Lissitz and Samuelsen (2007) propose a new framework for conceptualizing test validity that separates analysis of test properties from analysis of the construct measured. In response, the author of this article reviews fundamental characteristics of test validity, drawing largely from seminal writings as well as

It may seem that the argument whose most sophisticated PL argument consistency form was developed in the last chapter must be valid since no possible world could be such that “All heads of horses are heads of animals” would be false. Although we can perhaps not conceive of such a world, this failure of conception is not conclusive, as we can see by ...

Validity and Validation in Language Testing
2005The concept of validity, which concerns the truth-value of a test and its scores, is both powerful and precarious: powerful because it dominates all aspects of language testing; and precarious because it responds uneasily to four challenges. These are first, the challenge of the appeal to logic and to syllogistic reasoning; second, the challenge of the ...
