Testicular Biopsy: Sperm Antibodies

Fertility and Sterility, 1975
No circulating sperm-agglutinating or sperm-immobilizing antibodies were demonstrated in oligospermic or azoospermic men up to 14 days following bilateral testicular biopsies. Possible reasons for this lack of antigen-antibody response are discussed.

Quantitative Evaluation of Testicular Biopsies in Varicocele

Fertility and Sterility, 1978
Testicular biopsies from 81 patients with varicocele were evaluated by the score count method. Thirty-two patients sought treatment for infertility. Bilateral biopsies were performed in 47. Spermatogenesis was generally reduced in patients with varicocele, but there was no difference between the right and left tests.

The Diagnostic and Prognostic Significance of the Testicular Biopsy

Andrologia, 2009
The authors present the histological features of the testes in 1,609 cases of male sterility. In 485 cases (30.1%), histological changes were found, which did not warrant treatment. The histologic pattern of the testes was normal in only 39% of the cases of azoospermia; and only these patients were qualified for surgery, consisting of ...

Group 1 patients had atrophy of the Leydig cells, decreased Leydig cell ratio, low plasma testosterone,
