The epigenetics of testicular germ cell tumors: looking for novel disease biomarkers.

Epigenomics, 2017
Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT) are a group of heterogeneous, biologically diverse and clinically challenging neoplasms. Despite the relatively low incidence and mortality rates, a subgroup of patients with disseminated disease relapse after ...

Proteinases in testicular germ cell tumors

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2005
4773 Background: Proteinases play a role for invasiveness of malignancy so we examined data from a previous DNA oligo microarray study of patients with testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT).

Testicular Germ Cell Tumors

1991
In this chapter, I will discuss the cultivation in vitro of cells from biopsy specimens of human testicular germ cell tumours. These fascinating tumours command the attention of oncologists and biologists for several reasons. From the standpoint of the cancer therapist, while germ cell tumours represent one of the few success stories achieved with ...

Testicular Germ Cell Tumors

JAMA
ImportanceTesticular cancer is the most common solid malignancy among males aged 15 to 40 years in the US, with approximately 10 000 new cases diagnosed each year. Mesenteric Lymphadenopathy in Testicular Germ Cell Tumor

Urology, 2014
In approximately 25% of patients with testicular germ cell tumor (GCT), the cancer metastasizes to lymph nodes and distant organs. The initial lymphatic drainage site of GCTs is the retroperitoneum. GCTs rarely involve mesenteric lymph nodes.

Bilateral Testicular Tumors of Germ Cell Origin

Journal of Urology, 1975
Four cases of primary testicular tumor of germ cell origin are reported. Three cases were bilateral, while the remaining case involved a unilateral tumor in a non-twin brother of 1 patient with bilateral tumors. Because of the increased likelihood of a second primary tumor developing in a patient who has had a malignant germinal cell tumor and because

Molecular biology of testicular germ cell tumors

Clinical and Translational Oncology, 2006
Testicular germ cell tumors (TCGT) comprise a heterogeneous group of neoplasms, although all of them are originated from common precursors related to germ cell lineage. Understanding of normal development of germinal cells is essential to define new markers for diagnosis, prognostic subgroups and targeted therapies.

TESTICULAR GERM CELL TUMORS IN PREPUBERTAL CHILDREN

Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, 2000
Pediatric testicular germ cell tumors are rare. Fifteen children, all less than 5 years of age, were evaluated and treated during February 1987 to July 1996. The median age was 18 months (range, 4-60 months). All were staged according to the Pediatric Oncology Group/Children's Cancer Study Group staging system.

HLA-G in Testicular Germ Cell Tumors

Oncology Research and Treatment, 2014
Background: HLA-G is a non-classical major histocompatibility complex class I molecule. HLA-G expression has been found in various types of solid and hematological malignancies. It is also expressed in normal testicular and epididymal tissue.
