Testing Spatial Autocorrelation in Weighted Networks: The Modes Permutation Test [PDF]
Permutation tests of spatial autocorrelation are justified under exchangeability, that is the premise that the observed scores follow a permutation-invariant joint distribution. Yet, in the frequently encountered case of geographical data collected on regions differing in importance, the variance of a regional score is expected to decrease with the ...

Tests of mode-coupling theory in two dimensions [PDF]
We analyze the glassy dynamics of a binary mixtures of hard disks in two dimensions. Predictions of the Mode-Coupling theory(MCT) are tested with extensive Brownian dynamics simulations. Measuring the collective particle density correlation functions in the vicinity of the glass transition we verify four predicted mixing effects.

On testing the significance of a mode
We propose a nonparametric test for the significance of a mode, with the aim of evaluating whether a region of relatively high observed density reflects the actual presence of a mode in the true distribution underlying a set of data. The method leverages on Morse theory to characterize the local properties of the modes and the gradient. This allows the

Modes of Speciation in Birds: A Test of Lynch's Method [PDF]
The view that allopatric speciation is the predominant mode of speciation in animals seems firmly established (Mayr 1942, 1963). Mayr suggested that many species evolve via the establishment of small demes, often peripherally isolated, by dispersal of a few founders from the main body of the range.

Mode Calculation and Testing of a Car Body in White
The dynamic parameters of a car body in white (BIW) are important during a new car developing. Based on the finite element method, the model of a BIW is developed in which the welding points are treated specially as a new element type and the vibration ...

Strangeness modes in nuclei tested by antineutrinos [PDF]
Production of negative strangeness in reactions of inelastic anti-neutrino scattering on a nucleus provides information on the modification of strange degrees of freedom in nuclear matter. We calculate cross-sections of the reaction channels $\barν_{e(μ)}\to e^+(μ^+) + K^{-}$ and $\barν_{e(μ)} + p \to \Lb + e^+(μ^+)$ and investigate their sensitivity ...

Modeling and Closed Loop Flight Testing of a Fixed Wing Micro Air Vehicle
This paper presents the nonlinear six degrees of freedom dynamic modeling of a fixed wing micro air vehicle. The static derivatives of the micro air vehicle are obtained through the wind tunnel testing.

Central Nervous System Tumors Among Infants in Canada: A Report From CYP‐C
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) tumors in infants are rare, pose unique clinical challenges, and lack large‐scale evidence‐based data to guide management. This study seeks to describe CNS tumors in Canadian infants and to compare their outcomes with those of older children.

Different-Mode Power Splitters for Optical Testing of Three-Channel and Dual-Mode Waveguide Crossing
We study that the different-mode (waveguide-connected) power splitter [(W)PS] can provide different-mode testing points for the optical testing. With the PS or WPS providing two different-mode testing points, the measured insertion losses (ILs) of the ...
