Amylase release from streptolysin O-permeabilized pancreatic acinar cells. Effects of Ca2+, guanosine 5'-[gamma-thio]triphosphate, cyclic AMP, tetanus toxin and botulinum A toxin [PDF]
The molecular requirements for amylase release and the intracellular effects of botulinum A toxin and tetanus toxin on amylase release were investigated using rat pancreatic acinar cells permeabilized with streptolysin O.

Light‐Driven Quadrupedal Walking Biohybrid Robot With Antagonistic Muscle‐Rings and Inclined Joints
This work presents a light‐driven quadrupedal walking biohybrid robot powered by antagonistic muscle‐rings that achieve alternating walking gait. Optical training improved reproducibility of cultured muscle tissues, while caffeine treatment enhanced contractile force.

Neonatal tetanus in St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor: A case report
Umbilical stump sepsis in a nonpassively immunized neonate poses a high risk to neonatal tetanus. Management of neonatal tetanus is still a great challenge in resource‐limited settings where some health facilities lack tetanus toxoid containing vaccines,

Dysphagia in Elderly Women: Consider Tetanus [PDF]
Background:: Dysphagia is seldom caused by tetanus; however, it is a common symptom of tetanus. Treating patients with tetanus is a rare event in industrialized countries and awareness is needed to recognize early signs of this serious disease.

The light chain of tetanus toxin inhibits calcium-dependent vasopressin release from permeabilized nerve endings [PDF]
The effects of tetanus toxin and its light and heavy chain subunits on vasopressin release were investigated in digitonin-permeabilized neurosecretory nerve terminals isolated from the neural lobe of the rat pituitary gland.

A Central Somatic Transmission Mediates Proprioceptive Facilitation of Muscle Pain
Zhang et al. uncover a novel central mechanism for persistent muscle pain, in which TRPA1 sensitization in MeV proprioceptive neurons enhances somatic secretion. This, in turn, disinhibits descending pain control from neighboring noradrenergic locus coeruleus neurons via local GABAergic circuits, thereby promoting inflammatory muscle pain.

Tetanus in unvaccinated persons: A review of case reports
INTRODUCTION. Cases of tetanus are registered annually throughout the world, mainly in unimmunised or incompletely immunised populations. Analysis of tetanus cases and identification of the reasons for non-vaccination, including refusal to vaccinate, are
