Emerging applications of rare‐earth fluoride nanocrystals in medicine and biotechnologies

open access: yesResponsive Materials, Volume 3, Issue 4, November 2025.
Rare‐earth fluoride nanocrystals (REFNCs) exhibit high responsivity and can be used as multi‐modal agents in medicine and theranostics. This review summarizes recent advances in REFNCs, covering their synthesis, structures, luminescent properties, and applications in multi‐modal imaging and photodynamic therapy, highlighting their theranostic potential

Study on Growth of Tungsten Bronze Phase from Niobate Perovskite Ceramics in Controlled Atmosphere for Photoferroelectric Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
Recent research has found that by introducing A‐site deficiency into Ba/Ni co‐doped (K,Na)NbO3 ABO3‐type perovskite, a beneficial interface for photoferroelectric applications is formed between the perovskite and tungsten bronze (TB) phases.

Ising-Like Model For Ferroelectric Phase Transitions In Tetragonal Tungsten Bronze Compounds

open access: yes, 2011
The two-component anisotropic Ising-like model was proposed to model the ferroelectric phase transitions in Tetragonal Tungsten Bronze (TTB) compounds. Using the mean-field approach we reconstructed the phase diagram of the TTB

Origin and stability of the dipolar response in a family of tetragonal tungsten bronze relaxors

open access: yes, 2011
A new family of relaxor dielectrics with the tetragonal tungsten bronze structure (nominal composition Ba6M3+Nb9O 30, M3+ = Ga, Sc, or In) were studied using dielectric spectroscopy to probe the dynamic dipole response and correlate this with the crystal

The Structure and Thermoelectric Properties of Tungsten Bronze Ba6Ti2Nb8O30 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Tungsten bronze structured materials have attracted attention as possible thermoelectrics because of their complex crystal structure. In this work, a new thermoelectric ceramic with tetragonal tungsten bronze (TB) structure, Ba6Ti2Nb8O30 (BTN) was ...

Superconducting Properties of the K$_{x}$WO$_{3}$ Tetragonal Tungsten Bronze and the Superconducting Phase Diagram of the Tungsten Bronze Family

open access: yes, 2014
We report the superconducting properties of the K$_{x}$WO$_{3}$ tetragonal tungsten bronze. The highest superconducting transition temperature ($T_{c}=2.1$K) was obtained for K$_{0.38}$WO$_{3}$. $T_{c}$ decreases linearly with increasing K content. Using the measured values for the upper critical field $H_{c2}$, and the specific heat $C$, we estimate ...

Transmission electron microscopy evidence of a new tetragonal tungsten bronze superstructure

open access: yes, 1997
Electron diffraction patterns of M56(O, F)156 (M = Mg, Nb, W) (along [001]) exhibit eight additional spots arranged on an octagon around every reflection of the tetragonal tungsten bronze-type (TTB) substructure.
