Chemical Constituents and Biological Activities of Oxandra (Annonaceae): A Review

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Oxandra (Annonaceae) comprises 29 species distributed across South and Central America. Despite this diversity, the genus remains under‐investigated. This study presents the first comprehensive review of the chemical composition and biological activities of Oxandra species, utilizing databases such as SciFinder, ScienceDirect, PubMed, and ...

Why do herbivorous mites suppress plant defenses? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Plants have evolved numerous defensive traits that enable them to resist herbivores. In turn, this resistance has selected for herbivores that can cope with defenses by either avoiding, resisting or suppressing them. Several species of herbivorous mites,

Characterization of the Omnivorous Lygus lineolaris Diet in a Strawberry Field by Metataxonomy

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study employs metataxonomy to reveal the extensive omnivorous diet of Lygus lineolaris in a strawberry field, identifying 475 host taxa and confirming active ingestion across plant and prey sources. We introduce a novel coefficient of omnivory, demonstrating the species' strong herbivorous bias while highlighting its dietary flexibility and ...

Inter-specific crosses between Tetranychus urticae Koch and Tetranychus kanzawai Kishida.

open access: yesJapanese journal of applied entomology and zoology, 1987

Citrus defense responses against Tetranychus urticae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019

Susceptibility to cyflumetofen in populations of the citrus leprosis mite, Brevipalpus yothersi, from Brazilian citrus orchards

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 1, Page 1046-1056, January 2026.
Brevipalpus yothersi, the vector of citrus leprosis virus, showed high susceptibility to cyflumetofen. Its low resistance suggests it is effective, but should be rotated with other acaricides with different modes‐of‐action for sustainable management.

Glufosinate Ammonium Suppresses Tetranychus urticae in Cotton

open access: yesJournal of Cotton Science, 2018
Twospotted spider mites, Tetranychus urticae, are an important agricultural pest of many field crops worldwide. Insecticides and acaricides play a primary role in controlling T. urticae populations on agricultural crops. Here, we used greenhouse and field applied foliar spray tests and leaf dip bioassays to examine the susceptibility of T.

Toxicity of essential oils from Nordic plants against different pathogenic organisms and pests of cultivated plants

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 188, Issue 1, Page 160-169, January 2026.
Plant essential oils (EOs) represent a potentially effective, safe, and eco‐friendly alternative to synthetic pesticides that cause negative effects for human health and the environment. The present study evaluated in airtight glass chambers the toxicity of vapours produced by EOs obtained from sweet gale, balsam poplar, Labrador tea, jack pine, and ...
