Chemiluminescence in the reaction of 1,2,4,5-tetraoxanes with ferrous ions in the presence of xanthene dyes: fundamentals and perspectives of analytical applications

Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences, 2019
The reaction of biologically active bridged 1,2,4,5-tetraoxanes and diperoxide of trifluoroacetone with ferrous ions in the presence of xanthenes, methylene blue and methylene green is accompanied by bright chemiluminescence (CL) caused by the emission ...

Reinvestigating Old Pharmacophores: Are 4-Aminoquinolines and Tetraoxanes Potential Two-Stage Antimalarials?

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2016
The syntheses and antiplasmodial activities of various substituted aminoquinolines coupled to an adamantane carrier are described. The compounds exhibited pronounced in vitro and in vivo activity against Plasmodium berghei in the Thompson test. Tethering

Thermal decomposition of cyclic alkylidine peroxides (tetraoxanes)

open access: closedThermochimica Acta, 1974
Abstract Thermal decomposition of molten 6,6-bis-(4-methoxycarbonyl-butyl)-1,2,4,5-tetraoxane has kinetic parameters similar to those of the other dialkyl peroxides: A similar behaviour has also been found for 6,6-bis-(4-aminocarbonyl-butyl)-1,2,4,5-tetraoxane dissolved in dimethylformamide: In the absence of solvent this cyclic dimeric ...

Synthesis of a Triterpenoid with a 1,2,4,5-Tetraoxane Fragment [PDF]

open access: possibleChemistry of Natural Compounds, 2015
Acid-catalyzed formation of the peroxyacetal of cyclohexanone bis-hydroperoxide and a triterpene ketone synthesized for the first time 19β,28-epoxy-28-oxo-18α-olean-3-spiro-6′-(1′,2′,4′,5′-tetraoxacyclohexane)-3′-spirocyclohexane, the structure of which was confirmed by NMR spectroscopy and an x-ray crystal structure analysis.

ChemInform Abstract: Phosphomolybdic Acid Catalyzed Synthesis of 1,2,4,5‐Tetraoxanes. [PDF]

open access: possibleChemInform, 2011
AbstractThe condensation of dihydroperoxides and carbonyl compounds is achieved using phosphonomolybdic acid as the catalyst and anhydrous magnesium sulfate as water scavenger to yield spirocyclic tetraoxanes as subunits of antimalarial drugs.

Radiation‐induced polymerization of tetraoxane in the solid state

Journal of Polymer Science Part A-1: Polymer Chemistry, 1971
AbstractThe radiation‐induced polymerization of tetraoxane in the solid state has been investigated in air and in vacuo. The polymerization rate was higher in air than in vacuo, whereas the molecular weight of the polymer obtained at high conversion in air was considerably lower than in vacuo.

Mixed Steroidal 1,2,4,5-Tetraoxanes:  Antimalarial and Antimycobacterial Activity

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2002
Mixed 1,2,4,5-tetraoxanes possessing simple spirocycloalkane and spirocholic acid-derived substituents were prepared and shown to have significantly higher in vitro antimalarial activity than bis-substituted tetraoxanes. Out of 41 synthesized tetraoxanes, 12 were in vitro more potent against Plasmodium falciparum chloroquine-resistant W2 clone than ...

ChemInform Abstract: Metalloporphyrin‐Catalyzed Decomposition of Cyclic Diperoxides (1,2,4,5‐Tetraoxanes).

ChemInform, 1986
