Alcohol solutions of triphenyl-tetrazolium chloride as high-dose radiochromic dosimeters
Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 1995Abstract The radiolytic reduction of colorless tetrazolium salts in aqueous solution to the highly colored formazan dye is a well-known acid-forming radiation chemical reaction. Radiochromic thin films and three-dimensional hydrocolloid gels have been used for imaging and mapping absorbed dose distributions.

Triphenyl Tetrazolium Chloride as a Reagent for the Histological Demonstration of Subcutaneous Fat
Nature, 1949SUBCUTANEOUS fat at the site of injection is stained specifically in five to ten minutes when 0·5 ml. of a 1 per cent aqueous solution of triphenyl tetrazolium chloride is injected into mice. Neutral fat in the deeper layers is stained a bright orange-red, while the secretions of the sebaceous gland cells are stained a brick-red colour.

Effect of freezing on dehydrogenase activity and reduction of triphenyl tetrazolium chloride
Cryobiology, 1971Abstract Comparisons of activities of various dehydrogenases isolated from frozen and unfrozen tissues of Hedera helix indicate that freezing does not result in denaturation of the various dehydrogenases examined. Preincubation in 2, 4-dinitrophenol mimiced the effects of freezing on reduction of TTC.
