Microglial Fkbp5 Impairs Post‐Stroke Vascular Integrity and Regeneration by Promoting Yap1‐Mediated Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

Vital dye reaction and granule localization in periplasm of Escherichia coli.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
BackgroundTetrazolium salts are widely used in biology as indicators of metabolic activity - hence termed vital dyes - but their reduction site is still debated despite decades of intensive research.

Unraveling the Morphological and Functional Maturation Mechanisms Underlying Human Neural Development Using iPSCs‐Derived Neuronal Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs)‐derived neuronal model, Tian and colleagues reveal that voltage‐gated calcium channels Cav1.2 and Cav1.3, and their mediated calcium ion influx, are essential for early morphogenesis of human neuronal development, while ECEL1 underlies human neuronal functional developmental maturation through CALM3 ...

Optimization of tetrazolium tests to assess the quality of Platymiscium floribundum , Lonchocarpus muehlbergianus and Acacia polyphylla DC. Seeds

open access: yesJournal of Seed Science
: The tetrazolium (TZ) test is an alternative to conventional germination tests, which usually require longer periods for seed quality evaluation. However, it is necessary to develop specific methodologies for each species, determining the concentration ...

Endothelial Cell‐Based Vascular Bandages for Blood–Brain Barrier Repair and Targeted siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
mECs restore blood–brain barrier function after cerebral ischemia–reperfusion by simultaneously targeting, supporting, and regulating the damaged vasculature. mECs home to injured cerebral vessels through interactions with highly expressed VLA‐4, reinforce endothelial integrity by forming new junctions, and, upon OGD‐SN treatment, acquire enhanced ...

Iron Oxide Nanozyme as Reactive Oxygen and Nitrogen Species Scavenger to Regulate Microglial Homeostasis in Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
6 nm iron oxide nanoparticles (IONP6) exhibit enzyme‐like activities that scavenge reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS), including nitric oxide (NO). In stroke models, IONP6 promotes microglial polarization toward the M2 phenotype, reduces neuroinflammation, and improves neurological outcomes, offering a promising drug‐free approach to mitigate ...

open access: yesActa Chimica Slovenica, 2014
The formation of ternary ion-association complexes of Co(II) with 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol (PAR) and tetrazolium salts (TS) – (3-(4,5-dimethylThiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) and 3-(2-naphtyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium chloride

Quantification of Triphenyl-2H-tetrazoliumchloride Reduction Activity in Bacterial Cells

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2017
This protocol describes the use of the 2,3,5-triphenyl-2H-tetrazolium chloride (TTC) salt to evaluate the cell redox potential of rhizobia cells. The production of brightly colored and insoluble 1,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium formazan arising from TTC ...

Microglial Membranes Wrapped Ultrasmall Medium‐Entropy Ru Single‐Atom Nanozyme: Enhanced Catalysis for Accelerating Inflammation/Redox Microenvironment Regulation in Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PtRhIr/Ru SAN@M nanozymes cross the blood–brain barrier and selectively accumulate in hemorrhagic brain regions. By mimicking multiple enzyme activities, they attenuate oxidative stress, modulate microglial polarization toward an anti‐inflammatory phenotype, inhibit ferroptosis, and promote neuronal repair.
