Auditory–Tactile Congruence for Synthesis of Adaptive Pain Expressions in RoboPatients

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this work, we explore auditory–tactile congruence for synthesizing adaptive vocal pain expressions in robopatients. Using a robopatient platform that integrates vocal pain sounds with palpation forces, we conducted 7680 trials across 20 participants.

An Integrated NLP‐ML Framework for Property Prediction and Design of Steels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a data‐driven framework that uses language‐processing techniques to interpret steel processing descriptions and machine‐learning models to predict mechanical properties. By organising complex process histories into meaningful groups and enabling rapid property forecasts, the work supports faster, more informed steel design through ...

High performance latent dirichlet allocation for text mining [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University.Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), a total probability generative model, is a three-tier Bayesian model. LDA computes the latent topic structure of the data

Streptavidins Coordinate Biotin Sequestration and Self‐Resistance Within a Biotin‐Pathway Antibiotic Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conserved genomic region between two streptavidin genes in Streptomyces packages biosynthetic gene clusters for diverse biotin‐pathway antibiotics: acidomycin, stravidin, the new non‐proteinogenic amino acid ANDA, and the new BioA inhibitor α‐methyl‐KAPA.

Text Mining Perspectives in Microarray Data Mining [PDF]

open access: yesISRN Computational Biology, 2013
Current microarray data mining methods such as clustering, classification, and association analysis heavily rely on statistical and machine learning algorithms for analysis of large sets of gene expression data. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in methods that attempt to discover patterns based on multiple but related data sources ...
