Aggressive Text Detection for Cyberbullying
2014Aggressive text detection in social networks allows to identify offenses and misbehavior, and leverages tasks such as cyberbullying detection. We propose to automatically map a document with an aggressiveness score (thus treating aggressive text detection as a regression problem) and explore different approaches for this purpose.

TCATD: Text Contour Attention for Scene Text Detection
2020 25th International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR), 2021Segmentation-based approaches have enabled state-of-the-art performance in long or curved text detection tasks. However, false detection still is a challenge when two text instances are close to each other. To address this problem, in this paper, we propose a Text Contour Attention Text Detector (TCATD), which can locate scene text with arbitrary ...

Detecting text in the real world
Proceedings of the 20th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2012The problem of text detection in natural scene images is challenging because of the unconstrained sizes, colors, backgrounds and alignments of the characters. This paper proposes novel symmetry features for this task. Within a text line, the intra-character symmetry captures the correspondence between the inner contour and the outer contour of a ...

Detecting Plagiarism in Text Documents
2010Plagiarism aims at identifying the amount of information that is copied or reproduced in modified representation of original documents. This is quiet common among students, researchers and academicians that leads to a kind of unrecognizing. Though there exits some commercial tools to detect plagiarism, still plagiarism is tricky and quiet challenging ...

Portable and fast text detection
Machine Vision and Applications, 2016In this paper, we describe an efficient pipeline for real-time text detection to be implemented on different architectures, with particular reference to smart phones. The text detection pipeline is based on a rather standard segmentation followed by a classification of each segmented connected component.

The problem of plagiarism the recent years has been intensified by the availability of information in digital form and the accessibility of the electronic libraries through the Internet. As a result, plagiarism detection has been transformed into a big data analytics problem since the number of digital sources is extravagant and a new document needs to

Text Detection in Urban Scenes
2009Text detection in urban scenes is a hard task due to the high variability of text appearance: different text fonts, changes in the point of view, or partial occlusion are just a few problems. Text detection can be specially suited for georeferencing business, navigation, tourist assistance, or to help visual impaired people. In this paper, we propose a

Detecting Information Structures in Texts
2013The colossal growth of volatile online text data evokes the demand for automatic text analysis tools to identify worthwhile information. Documents, as well as text streams, can be structured beyond the concept of frequency distributions.

Scene Text Detection Based on Text Stroke Components
International Journal of Neural SystemsThe detection of scene text holds significant importance across a variety of application scenarios. However, previous methods were insufficient for detecting and recognizing text instances, such as variations in text size, chaotic background and diverse text orientations.
