DoWitcher: Effective Worm Detection and Containment in the Internet Core [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Enterprise networks are increasingly offloading the responsibility for worm detection and containment to the carrier networks. However, current approaches to the zero-day worm detection problem such as those based on content similarity of packet payloads

Deception detection in Russian texts [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Student Research Workshop at the 15th Conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics, 2017
Humans are known to detect deception in speech randomly and it is therefore important to develop tools to enable them to detect deception. The problem of deception detection has been studied for a significant amount of time, however the last 10-15 years have seen methods of computational linguistics being employed.

Automatic detection and extraction of artificial text in video [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A significant challenge in large multimedia databases is the provision of efficient means for semantic indexing and retrieval of visual information. Artificial text in video is normally generated in order to supplement or summarise the visual content ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Recognition of Machine-Readable Zone in Identity Documents: A Review

open access: yesIEEE Access
Encoding personal identity document information into machine-readable formats is one of the most important approaches to automatic data processing. The Machine-Readable Zone (MRZ) of a document contains text data in the form of 2 or 3 long text lines of ...

Text scanner with text detection technology on image sequences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We propose a text scanner, which detects wide text strings in a sequence of scene images. For scene text detection, we use a multiple-CAMShift algorithm on a text probability image produced by a multi-layer perceptron.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

NetraAadhaar: A Deep Learning-Driven Aadhaar Verification Platform for the Aid of Visually Impaired

open access: yesIEEE Access
Visually impaired individuals face challenges in verifying Aadhaar cards due to the absence of braille, often relying on others for assistance. Despite the widespread use of Aadhaar cards across India, research on assistive technologies for such users ...

Feature enhancement and bilinear feature vector fusion for text detection of mobile industrial containers

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2022
In the real factory environment, due to factors such as dim light, irregular text, and limited equipment, text detection becomes a challenging task.Aiming at this problem, a feature vector fusion module based on bilinear operation was designed and ...
