Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Better Skeleton Better Readability: Scene Text Image Super-Resolution via Skeleton-Aware Diffusion Model

open access: yesIEEE Access
Scene text image super-resolution (STISR) aims to enhance the resolution of text images while simultaneously improving their readability by reducing noise, blur, and other degradations. Existing diffusion-based approaches for STISR primarily rely on text-

Scene Text Recognition Based on Improved CRNN

open access: yesInformation, 2023
Text recognition is an important research topic in computer vision. Scene text, which refers to the text in real scenes, sometimes needs to meet the requirement of attracting attention, and there is the situation such as deformation.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Kannada Text Recognition

open access: yesInternational Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2022
Abstract: The task of automatic handwriting recognition is critical. This can be a difficult subject, and it has gotten a lot of attention in recent years. In the realm of picture grouping, handwritten character recognition is a problem. Handwritten characters are difficult to decipher since various people have distinct handwriting styles. For decades,

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Single-Character-Based Embedding Feature Aggregation Using Cross-Attention for Scene Text Super-Resolution

open access: yesSensors
In textual vision scenarios, super-resolution aims to enhance textual quality and readability to facilitate downstream tasks. However, the ambiguity of character regions in complex backgrounds remains challenging to mitigate, particularly the ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...
