Synthetic Shewanella‐Bacillus Microbial Consortia for Enhanced Metal Oxide Leaching From Spent Lithium‐Ion Batteries Using Brewing Wastewater as Leaching Agent

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A recycling approach of spent lithium‐ion batteries is developed using brewing wastewater as the leaching agent and an engineering microbial consortium as the biocatalyst. Shewanella oneidensis reduces spent LiNixCoyMn1‐x‐yO2 cathodes via extracellular electron transfer, while Bacillus subtilis removes residual ethanol to eliminate inhibition.

Coordination‐Asymmetry‐Regulated Reconstruction of Electron‐Rich Cu Sites for pH‐Dependent Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Distinct initial Cu coordination environments drive different pH‐dependent structural evolution pathways, resulting in divergent nitrate reduction activity and behavior. ABSTRACT Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction (e‐NO3RR) offers a promising route to valorize nitrate‐contaminated wastewater while enabling sustainable ammonia production ...

Preparation of MOEAMCl and MAAm Based Hydrogels and Effective Use in Anionic Dye Adsorption

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 16, April 20, 2025.
ABSTRACT In this study, hydrogels based on [2‐(Methacryloyloxy)ethyl]trimethylammonium chloride (MOEAMCl) and methacrylamide (MAAm) were synthesized for the removal of anionic dyes from aqueous solutions. Following detailed characterization, the use of hydrogels for methyl orange (MO) adsorption was investigated.
