Integrated biorefinery for cellulosic ethanol and spherical nanolignin production from coconut waste

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Green coconut waste was subjected to different fractionation methods to obtain integrated lignin nanoparticles and cellulosic ethanol. Pretreatment with gradual addition of dilute sulfuric acid provided a higher structural hemicellulose precursor yield (68.2%).

Tailored nano clay blends for enhanced dye mixture adsorption in wastewater treatment

open access: yesHybrid Advances
Natural clays are eco-friendly, cost-effective, and industrially acceptable adsorbents employed in wastewater treatment. Textile effluents contains mixture of dyes where a single adsorbent often fails to treat completely.

Acidogenic fermentation of pretreated food waste under psychrophilic conditions for volatile fatty acids production

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Mixed‐culture fermentation generally produces volatile fatty acids (VFAs) as a mixture of C2–C6 acids. Among operational parameters, temperature has a distinct effect on the microorganisms' metabolic activity, which can shift the composition of the metabolites.

Operational Performance Implications of Circular Economy Implementation: An Empirical Exploration in the Manufacturing Sector

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The global manufacturing sector has increasingly adopted circular economy (CE) practices to address sustainability challenges and improve operational efficiency. This study explores the impact of five CE practices—reduce, reuse, remanufacture, recycle, and recover—on key operational performance dimensions: quality, speed, dependability ...

REMOVAL OF REACTIVE DYES FROM WASTEWATER OF TEXTILE INDUSTRIES BY USING ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY ADSORBENTS [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Oradea: Fascicle of Textiles, Leatherwork, 2016
This paper is aimed at developing a method to treat wastewater by using inexpensive adsorbents. Textile industries produce wastewater, otherwise known as effluent, as a bi-product of their production. The effluent contains several pollutants.

Measuring Corporate Alignment With the Circular Economy: a Text‐Based Circularity Index From Mandatory Non‐Financial Disclosures

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The transition to a circular economy (CE) has become a strategic priority for firms, yet empirical assessments of corporate circularity remain fragmented and heavily dependent on structured indicators or self‐reported metrics. This paper proposes a novel, text‐based circularity index derived from mandatory non‐financial statements of large ...
