Texture analysis and scientific visualization.

In this paper, we propose a new formalism that enables to take into account image textural features in a very robust and selective way. This approach also permits to visualize these features so experts can efficiently supervise an image segmentation process based on texture analysis.

Combining Features for Texture Analysis

In the present paper we consider building feature vectors for texture analysis by combining information provided by two techniques.The first feature extraction method the Discrete Wavelet Transform is applied to the entire image. By computing the Gini index for several subimages of a given texture, we choose one that maximizes this measure.
