Appearance-space texture synthesis
ACM SIGGRAPH 2006 Papers on - SIGGRAPH '06, 2006The traditional approach in texture synthesis is to compare color neighborhoods with those of an exemplar. We show that quality is greatly improved if pointwise colors are replaced by appearance vectors that incorporate nonlocal information such as feature and radiance-transfer data.

Data-Embeddable Texture Synthesis
2007Data hiding techniques onto images provide tools for protecting copyright or sending secret messages, and they are currently utilized as a simple input device of a cell phone by detecting a data embedded in an image with an equipped digital camera. This paper presents a method of synthesizing texture images for embedding arbitrary data by utilizing the

Near-Regular Texture Synthesis
2009This paper describes a method for seamless enlargement or editing of difficult colour textures containing simultaneously both regular periodic and stochastic components. Such textures cannot be successfully modelled using neither simple tiling nor using purely stochastic models.

Many natural and man-made surface patterns are created by interactions between texture elements and surface geometry. We believe that the best way to create such patterns is to synthesize a texture directly on the surface of the model. Given a texture sample in the form of an image, we create a similar texture over an irregular mesh hierarchy that has ...

Feature-Based Texture Synthesis
2005We introduce a new method for texture synthesis on regular and irregular example textures. In this paper, an enhanced patch-based algorithm is proposed to select patches with the best structural similarity and to avoid discontinuity at the boundary of adjacent patches.
