Texture Synthesis with Grouplets [PDF]
This paper proposes a new method to synthesize and inpaint geometric textures. The texture model is composed of a geometric layer that drives the computation of a new grouplet transform. The geometry is an orientation flow that follows the patterns of the texture to analyze or synthesize.

3D Visualization of Trees Based on a Sphere-Board Model
Because of the smooth interaction of tree systems, the billboard and crossed-plane techniques of image-based rendering (IBR) have been used for tree visualization for many years.

Distributed texture-based terrain synthesis [PDF]
Terrain synthesis is an important field of Computer Graphics that deals with the generation of 3D landscape models for use in virtual environments. The field has evolved to a stage where large and even infinite landscapes can be generated in realtime ...

Computation of Compact Distributions of Discrete Elements
In our daily lives, many plane patterns can actually be regarded as a compact distribution of a number of elements with certain shapes, like the classic pattern mosaic.

Texture representation via analysis and synthesis with generative adversarial networks
We investigate data-driven texture modeling via analysis and synthesis with generative adversarial networks. For network training and testing, we have compiled a diverse set of spatially homogeneous textures, ranging from stochastic to regular.

Texture mapping in a distributed environment [PDF]
This paper presents a tool for texture mapping in a distributed environment. A parallelization method based on the master-slave model is described. The purpose of this work is to lower the image generation time in the complex 3D scenes synthesis process.

Integration of feature distributions for colour texture segmentation [PDF]
This paper proposes a new framework for colour texture segmentation and determines the contribution of colour and texture. The distributions of colour and texture features provides the discrimination between different colour textured regions in an ...

Learning generative texture models with extended Fields-of-Experts [PDF]
We evaluate the ability of the popular Field-of-Experts (FoE) to model structure in images. As a test case we focus on modeling synthetic and natural textures.

Colour texture segmentation using evidence gathering [PDF]
A new approach to colour-texture segmentation is presented which uses Local Binary Pattern data and a new colour quantisation scheme based on hue and saturation to provide evidence from which pixels can be classified into texture classes.
