Microfluidic flow direction and rate vector sensor based on a partially gold-coated TFBG [PDF]
In microfluidic chips applications, the monitoring of the rate and the direction of a microfluidic flow is very important. Here, we demonstrate a liquid flow rate and a direction sensor using a partially gold-coated tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) as the sensing element.

800nm fiber Bragg grating sensing interrogation system using TFBG and CCD array [PDF]
An 800nm band fiber Bragg grating sensing interrogation system using TFBG as the core wavelength division component is presented. A charge coupled device (CCD) linear array is put on the focal plane of the lens to detect the light.

Annealing of Gold Films on TFBGs
Latin America Optics and Photonics Conference, 2018Tilted fiber Bragg gratings have been used to investigate structure changes on electroless plated gold thin films before and after annealing. Changes in intensity and refractive index sensitivity can be useful to model the permittivity as a function of morphology.

High-temperature resistance refractometric sensors based on regenerated TFBGs
Optical Sensing and Detection VI, 2020In this study, we report on the thermal regeneration of Type-I tilted fiber Bragg gratings produced in hydrogen loaded single-mode optical fiber (SMF28). Both 193 nm excimer laser and 266 nm femtosecond pulses were used to inscribe the gratings through phase mask technique.

Efficient apodized-TFBG for DWDM systems
2016 Sixth International Conference on Digital Information Processing and Communications (ICDIPC), 2016This study is carried out to optimize the tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) performance in the reflection mode. This optimization starts by controlling the tilt angle, that causes an intensive decrease in the full width at half maximum (FWHM) at the expense on the peak reflectivity.

High-precision data analysis for TFBG-assisted refractometer
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2020Abstract The paper is devoted to the tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG)-assisted fiber refractometer. A novel mathematical method for the automatic analysis of its signal is proposed. A change in the refractive index is associated with a change in the cut-off wavelength, which is determined from the envelopes of the sensor’s transmission spectrum ...

Phase demodulation of SPR-TFBG for refractometry via Jones formalism
Optica Advanced Photonics Congress 2022, 2022Optical phase difference between orthogonally polarized modes induced by a gold-coated tilted fiber Bragg grating sensor is extracted from the Jones’s formalism. We provide a phase analysis of slight refractive index variations in aqueous solutions.

Researches and experiments on reflective TFBG — SPR biosensor
2017 Chinese Automation Congress (CAC), 2017This thesis puts forward a kind of reflective tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) surface plasma resonance (SPR) biosensor, which is stable, corrosion-resistant and label-free, and has the advantage of simple operation and field-based test. At first, the biosensor was used to monitor the bacterial density, which has laid a foundation for the subsequent ...
