Iron Overload: Pathophysiology, Diagnosis and Monitoring

open access: yesInternational Journal of Laboratory Hematology, Volume 48, Issue 4, Page 747-756, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Iron overload is associated with significant health risks, underscoring the importance of understanding its pathophysiology as well as establishing accurate diagnostic and monitoring methods. Chronic iron overload is associated with either genetic disorders characterized by excessive iron accumulation (hereditary hemochromatosis), or is ...

Experimental Models of Autoimmune Hepatitis: Disease Fidelity and Translational Relevance

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) remains difficult to study mechanistically in patients because disease initiation is rarely observed directly, the relevant autoantigens differ across subsets, and clinically meaningful outcomes such as chronic inflammation, fibrosis, relapse, and treatment response evolve over time.

Sema3E‐plexinD1 Axis Is a Modulator of Foxp3+ Regulatory T‐Cells in House Dust Mite Model of Asthma

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 14, 31 July 2026.
Airway epithelial‐derived Sema3E enhances both the number and proliferation of Foxp3+ regulatory T (Treg) cells in an acute model of asthma. Mechanistically, deletion of PlexinD1, the receptor for Sema3E, specifically in Foxp3+ cells was associated with a breakdown in immune regulation in this model.

Menopause Averted a Midlife Energetic Crisis With Help From Older Dependent Children and Parents: A Simulation Study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 190, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives The grandmother hypothesis proposes that ancestral women ceased reproduction midlife to instead provision their grandchildren. An alternative “two‐sex” account proposes that the high energetic burden of caring for slow‐developing offspring was met with biparental investment.

Non‐canonical function of transferrin receptor‐1 promotes breast cancer metastasis by activating HCK‒STAT3‒MMP9 signalling

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
Schematic summary of TfR‐1‐induced HCK axis activation promoting breast cancer metastasis: TfR‐1 interacts with USP32 and stabilises HCK, directly mediating its phosphorylation and activation. Activated HCK subsequently induces STAT3 phosphorylation and nuclear accumulation, which drives transcriptional upregulation of MMP9, a key mediator of ...

Stimuli‐Responsive Aggregation‐Induced Emission Materials for Tumor Theranostics: Design Strategies and Biomedical Applications

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2026.
pH, enzyme, hypoxia/redox, temperature, and external trigger‐responsive AIE materials for tumor imaging and therapy. Smart‐responsive aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) materials have emerged as promising bio‐nanomaterials for tumor diagnosis and therapy due to their enhanced fluorescence in aggregated states, overcoming the aggregation‐caused ...

TFRS ve KOBİ TFRS açısından maddi duran varlıkların muhasebeleştirilmesi

open access: yes, 2015
