Symmetry‐Induced Selective Excitation of Topological States in Su–Schrieffer–Heeger Waveguide Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 4, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
Herein, the selective excitation of trivial/nontrivial topological states by switching the symmetry of the topological zero modes (TZM) in Su–Schrieffer–Heeger waveguide arrays is reported. Bidirectional topological transitions between symmetric and antisymmetric TZMs can be achieved with proposed strategy. Selective excitation of topological edge mode

Base‐Mediated Generation of Ketenimines from Ynamides: Addition of Hydrazones to Give Acetimidohydrazides**

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 2022, Issue 18, May 13, 2022., 2022
The addition of hydrazones onto the central carbon of the ketenimines generated in situ from N‐Boc ynamides is reported. This reaction takes place under basic conditions and heating, to generate the N‐arylketenimines, and gives access to a variety of acetimidohydrazides.

Self-reported data: a major tool to assess compliance with anti-malarial combination therapy among children in Senegal. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
BACKGROUND: Although there are many methods available for measuring compliance, there is no formal gold standard. Different techniques used to measure compliance were compared among children treated by the anti-malarial amodiaquine/sulphadoxine ...

Trichloroethylene increases pulmonary endothelial permeability: implication for pulmonary veno‐occlusive disease

open access: yesPulmonary Circulation, Volume 10, Issue 4, Page 1-4, October‐December 2020., 2020
Trichloroethylene exposure is a major risk factor for pulmonary veno‐occlusive disease. We demonstrated that trichloroethylene alters the endothelial barrier integrity, at least in part, through vascular endothelial (VE)‐Cadherin internalisation, and suggested that this mechanism may play a role in the development of pulmonary veno‐occlusive disease.

High turnaround times and low viral resuppression rates after reinforced adherence counselling following a confirmed virological failure diagnostic algorithm in HIV‐infected patients on first‐line antiretroviral therapy from Tanzania

open access: yesTropical Medicine &International Health, Volume 25, Issue 5, Page 579-589, May 2020., 2020
Abstract Objective Early identification of confirmed virological failure is paramount to avoid accumulation of drug resistance in patients on antiretroviral therapy (ART). Scale‐up of HIV‐RNA monitoring in Africa and timely switch to second‐line regimens are challenged.
