Micropaleontological observations on the Lower Cretaceous iron ore-related formations of the Mecsek Mts. (Upper Valanginian–Lower Hauterivian, South Hungary) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Late Valanginian–Early Hauterivian iron ore deposit and related formations at Zengővárkony (Mecsek Mts., South Hungary) provided a relatively rich microfauna of foraminifera, crustacean microcoprolites, and sponge spicules.

ON THE OCCURRENCE OF THALASSINIDEA (DECAPODA) IN NORWEGIAN WATERS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Crustacean Biology, 2000
This paper surveys occurrence of five thalassinidean species recorded from the Norwegian coast. All five species occur along the coast of Southern Norway. Calocaris macandreae, the most abundant of the species, and Calocarides coronatus are found north to Northern Norway (69°30.1'N and 70°20'N respectively).

Review of the THALASSINIDEA (CRUSTACEA: DECAPODA) from Chile and Argentina

open access: yes, 2003
Thalassinid decapods have received increasing attention in marine ecology due to their deep-burrowing activity and their ecological importance in benthic communities, i.e. as bioturbators in muddy environments (Pemberton et al. 1976, Stamhuis et al. 1996, Coelho et al. 2000).

Importance of allochthonousmaterial in benthicmacrofaunalcommunityfunctioning in estuarinesaltmarshes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Allochthonous input provides important food and spatial resources for estuarinebenthic fauna. While it is known that autochthonous materials are important for fauna occupying small marshes, here, we present the significance of allochthonousmaterials for ...

Relationship of Homolidae and Dromiidae : evidence from spermatozoal ultrastructure (Crustacea, Decapoda) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The homolid spermatozoon, as exemplified by #Homola$ sp., #Paromola$ sp. and #Paromola petterdi$, differs markedly from spermatozoa of crabs of the #Heterotremata$ - #Thoracotremata$ assemblage but agrees with the sperm of dromiids, in the strongly ...

Challenging for Seagrass Management in Indonesia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Seagrasses, one of the important ecosystems in Indonesian coastal waters, have declined mostly due to a variety of multi-sector (i.e. ecology, socio-economy, technology and institution) anthropogenic disturbances. The decline and loss of seagrass meadows

Scallop dredging has profound, long-term impacts on maerl habitats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Maerl beds are mixed sediments built by a surface layer of slow-growing, unattached coralline algae that are of international conservation significance because they create areas of high biodiversity.
