Dual Disruption of the Immune Cytokine Spätzle Facilitates Fungal Infection of Diverse Insect Hosts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Toll pathway is essential for insect defense against fungal pathogens. This works reports that fungal parasites employ two divergent virulent effectors to target the Toll receptor ligand Spätzle: a metalloprotease degrading it and a hairpin‐like effector hijacking it to block signal transduction. This dual strategy enables the fungus to kill a wide

Supramolecular Self‐Assembly of Organic Cu(I) Iodides as Green and Recyclable Paper‐Based Customizable Large‐Area Flexible Film for Plant Grow Lighting and Plant Root X‐Ray Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Organic Cu(I) iodides with efficient broadband photoluminescence and radioluminescence are reported. Based on “ancient cloth dyeing process”, a paper‐based flexible film is prepared in situ on cellulose, and demonstrates its application in plant growth lighting and plant root X‐ray imaging.

Laser‐Induced Photothermal Conversion to Hemispherical MoS2 Enabling Non‐Contact Self‐Powering Image Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The laser‐assisted method allows the direct synthesis of hemispherical MoS2 (h‐MoS2). Through curvature‐induced electric‐field amplification, the h‐MoS2‐based noncontact TENG exhibited a 37‐fold increase in voltage output and operated stably at distances of up to 10 mm.

Moth‐Eye‐Engineered Flexible Films for X‐Ray Shielding and Persistent Radiation Warning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A moth‐eye‐engineered film SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+@SiO2 (SOD@SiO2) that integrates X‐ray shielding, persistent luminescence, and high‐resolution imaging. It bridges nighttime maritime rescue, radiation protection, and real‐time X‐ray hazard alerts, overcoming traditional trade‐offs between performance and environmental resilience.

Physical Interpretation of Diffractive Optical Networks for High‐Dimensional Vortex Mode Sorting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The first layer‐resolved physical interpretation of diffractive optical networks trained for high‐dimensional vortex mode sorting is presented, revealing transformation division phenomena linked to saturated performance as layer numbers increase. This analysis reconciles physical theorems with network operations, enabling physics‐driven design of ...

Light Metabolically Reprograms CD8+ T Cells to Potentiate STING‐Driven Tumor Eradication and Prevent Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Low‐level light (LLL) rejuvenates exhausted CD8+ T cells, boosting STING‐driven tumor eradication and prevents metastasis. NanoSTING@Mn enhances CD8+ T cells infiltration while LLL restores its function expanding to progenitor‐exhausted cells. These cells form central memory T cells in lymphoid organs. Intranasal nanoSTING@Mn redirects antitumor CD8+ T
