The benefits of total harmonic distortion of currents (THDi) reduction in cables of low voltage power distribution system / Mohammad Nizam Ibrahim, Irni Hamiza Hamzah and Linda Mohd Kasim [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Harmonic currents are generated by single and three-phase non-linear electronic loads. The usage of non-linear loads increasing rapidly and the quantity of these types of loads are dominant of the power system loads since its have higher efficiency and ...

Dual source novel nine level inverter (DSN2LI) design with minimum active devices and inherent polarity generation

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This article presents a dual‐source novel nine‐level inverter (DSN2LI) featuring minimal devices. Utilizing eight switches, which include 2 bidirectional switching devices and 2 uneven dc links, the proposed DSN2LI generates nine levels. The DSN2LI employs the utilization of trinary geometric DC links.

Time indicator of the Human Development Index [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Human Development Index, computed by the United Nations, has been challenged since it does not measure the real development of a country. It needs to be combined with other indexes and ratios (poverty, Gini index).

Properties of active rectifier with LCL filter in the selection process of the weighting factors in finite control set-MPC [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences: Technical Sciences, 2020
One of the main problems of multivariable cost functions in model predictive control is the choice of weighting factors. Two finite control set model predictive control algorithms, applied to the three-phase active rectifier with an LCL filter, are ...

Offline Pulse Distribution Strategies for SWISS Rectifier Using Improved PDM at High Switching Frequencies

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes an improved offline pulse density modulation strategy for the SWISS rectifier to achieve low input current distortion and high power factor at high switching frequencies. Experimental results at 38.4 kHz reduce THDi from over 30% to ≈10%, while high‐frequency simulations at 172.8 kHz achieve THDi of 3.3% and PF = 0.9954.
