Highly selective synthesis of surface FeIV=O with nanoscale zero-valent iron and chlorite for efficient oxygen transfer reactions

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 2023
Significance High-valent iron-oxo species is a very important oxygen transfer reagent but often cogenerated with other reactive species. This is the first report on the highly selective aqueous synthesis of surface ≡FeIV=O, which is formed on nanoscale ...

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Protein Adsorption on Various Plasma-Treated Polyethylene Terephthalate Substrates

open access: yesMolecules, 2013
Protein adhesion and cell response to plasma-treated polymer surfaces were studied. The polymer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was treated in either an oxygen plasma to make the surface hydrophilic, or a tetrafluoromethane CF4 plasma to make the ...

Catalysis of the electrochemical reduction of oxygen by bacteria isolated from electro-active biofilms formed in seawater [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Biofilmsformed in aerobic seawater on stainless steel are known to be efficient catalysts of the electrochemicalreduction of oxygen. Based on their genomic analysis, seven bacterial isolates were selected and a cyclic voltammetry (CV) procedure was ...

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Study on the Characteristics of Monolayer Water and Bound Water of Wheat Flour after Cold Plasma Treatment

open access: yesLiang you shipin ke-ji
To understand the cause for the increasing water absorption rate of wheat shorts after cold plasma treatment, a dynamic moisture adsorption instrument was used to measure the moisture sorption isotherms of samples treated with 120 W low-pressure strong ...

IN SITU DRIFTS/MS STUDIES ON THE INTERACTION OF METHANOL AND ETHYL ACETATE OVER MG-LA CATALYST [PDF]

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2020
The surface intermediates formed on the Mg-La catalyst (molar ratio 1:1) were studied through temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) and diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy coupled to mass spectrometry (DRIFTS-MS) using methanol (

Aging effect in magnetotransport property of oxygen adsorbed BaFe2As2 [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
Presence of Oxygen (O2) has been found by Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis (EDAX) on the surfaces of flux grown BaFe2As2 single crystals which were kept in air ambience for several months. Transport studies show that the O2 adsorbed crystals are more resistive and do not display any sharp slope change near 140 K which is the well known Spin Density ...

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.
