Optical polarized properties of the F2 center in YAlO3 crystal
Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, 2010Abstract The electronic structures, dielectric functions and absorption coefficient of perfect YAlO 3 (YAP) crystal and YAP crystal containing F 2 center (YAP:F 2 ) have been studied using the CASTEP code with the lattice structure optimized. The calculated electronic structures indicate that the F 2 center in YAP bring donor energy levels in the ...

EPR spectroscopy of the Cr3+ centers in LLGG:Cr single crystals
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2003The X-band (ν≅9.4 GHz) electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) of series of Cr-doped lanthanum lutetium gallium garnet (LLGG) single crystals with various compositions and Cr concentrations were investigated at room and liquid nitrogen temperatures. All observed EPR spectra were assigned to Cr3+ ions (3d3 configuration, 4A2g ground state).

The Plasticity of an Isotropic Aggregate of Anisotropic Face-Centered Cubic Crystals
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1954Abstract The plasticity of a polycrystalline aggregate is expressed in terms of the plasticity of the individual grains. It is assumed that the local deviation of stress from the average stress is proportional to the local deviation of strain from the average strain, and it is assumed that plastic flow begins when there is an average of ...

Synthesis of Liquid Crystals Containing Chlorine on the Chiral Center
Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1995Abstract A synthetic pathway is described for the preparation of the homologous series of (R)-(2-chloropropyl)-4-[4′-(n-alkoxy)benzoyloxy] benzoates with high optical purity. The liquid crystalline members of the series exhibit smectic A phase and can be used as chiral dopants in ferroelectric mixtures.

On the Structure of Luminescenting Centers in Lu2SiO5:Се Crystals
Physics of Atomic Nuclei, 2018The absorption and luminescence spectra of cerium-activated lutetium oxyorthosilicate crystals Lu2SiO5:Се subjected to irradiation by gamma rays and neutrons and thermal treatment under reductive conditions have been studied. It has been demonstrated that the radiative and thermal treatment of crystals leads to the removal of oxygen from the oxygen ...

Dynamics in the System of Dipolar Impurity Centers in Crystals
physica status solidi (b), 1988AbstractA model is proposed for the description of the dynamics in the system of dipolar impurities in crystals. The impurities are assumed to reorient by the Arrhenius temperature dependence in the case when the activation energy is much larger than the temperature of reorientation freezing (the temperature of the phase transition in the impurity ...

Color Centers and the Flow Stress of LiF Single Crystals
Journal of Applied Physics, 1962Lithium fluoride crystals were exposed to cobalt-60 gamma radiation at 300° and 78°K. Changes of the flow stress and of the optical absorption were measured in an effort to relate the hardening to identifiable color centers. In crystals irradiated at 300°K there was found to be a good correlation between the flow stress and the ...
