Development of the Philosophical Thought in Crimea during the Golden Horde Period: Sharaf al-Qrimi

open access: yesЗолотоордынское обозрение, 2014
In most of contemporary studies on Islamic Philosophy, the main attention is concerned with the Classical Age (from the eighth up to the thirteenth century). It is worthy to mention that many late medieval Arabic sources still remain out of the real scholarly interest. In turn, the author of this article emphasizes that the philosophical and scientific

Ultrasound Activated Piezoelectric Dural Patches to Drive Endogenous Neural Stem Cell–Mediated Repair Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a wireless, non‐invasive strategy for neural repair by developing a biodegradable piezoelectric dural patch that, under transcranial ultrasound, generates localized electrical fields to drive endogenous neural stem cells toward neuronal differentiation and functional integration.

Control Strategies in Guanine Biocrystallization

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Biological guanine crystals produce spectacular photonic phenomena in animals and hold great promise as new, sustainable optical materials. We review how organisms precisely control the structure, morphologies, and resulting optical properties of these crystals using a set of ingenious ‘design’ strategies, including control of pH, template‐directed ...
