GPR Signal Denoising and Target Extraction With the CEEMD Method

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2015
In this letter, we apply a time and frequency analysis method based on the complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition (CEEMD) method in ground-penetrating radar (GPR) signal processing. It decomposes the GPR signal into a sum of oscillatory components, with guaranteed positive and smoothly varying instantaneous frequencies.

The GPR refraction method

Geophysics, 2002
Abstract Refracted phases have been a recognized feature in wide-angle common midpoint (CMP) and common shotpoint (CSP) ground-penetrating radar (GPR) surveys for many years, but historically their use has been limited and overshadowed by conventional reflection profiling techniques.

An image reconstruction method using GPR data

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1999
The spatial resolution of a ground penetrating radar (GPR) system using traditional interpretation methods is largely dependent on the isolations of echoes. It is difficult to identify weak echoes that are mixed with either direct waves or other larger echoes; especially, when the media is absorptive, the reflections cannot be identified from the tail ...

Detection of Buried Objects by the GPR Method

Fifth International Conferention on Ground Penetrating Radar, 1994
The ground penetration radar (GPR) technique is compared with two seismic methods, the spectral-analysis-of-surface-waves (SASW) and the crosshole, for detection of buried objects. Tests were performed in a 7 m diameter by 2 m deep sand bin in the G. G. Brown Lab of the University of Michigan.

New method for GPRS cellular network traces exploitation

2010 17th International Conference on Telecommunications, 2010
In the idea to create a realistic model of mobility and traffic for the networks of 3rd and 4th generation, we have studied many techniques of modeling and planning. Our choice was for the real network traces exploitation techniques, mainly because compared to other techniques this technique is very adapted to the real modeling. Although this technique

Complex impedance mapping using GPR survey methods

IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004
GPR surveys are normally processed to provide reflection images free of static offsets and long period drift. However in many surveys the raw data is observed to contain systematic decays consistent with Cole-Cole models of complex impedance. The resulting time-constants can be used to provide additional constraints for geotechnical investigations of ...

Investigation of Concrete Internal Structures With GPR Method

Proceedings, 2017
Summary In this study, during the maintenance of part at the basement of the Department of Geophysical Engineering of the Technical University of Karadeniz, during the maintenance of, It is aimed to investigate by means of the Ground Radar (GPR) method to shows that the damaged reinforcing bar observed in the ceiling continue in the structure. For this,

Evaluation of EMD-based Methods on GPR Data

Proceedings, 2014
Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) is a relatively new technique for analysing non-linear and non-stationary time series. Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) and Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (CEEMD) are noise assisted and adaptive methods based on EMD.

GPR Methods for Hydrogeological Studies

2005
Use of ground-penetrating radar (GPR) for geologic applications grew considerably in the 1970s. In recent years, use of GPR has increased in hydrogeological investigations, since the presence or absence of water dominates GPR responses.

Derivative seismic processing method for GPR data

IGARSS'97. 1997 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium Proceedings. Remote Sensing - A Scientific Vision for Sustainable Development, 2002
Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is a newly developed geophysics method. It belongs to one of the electromagnetic methods. In a broad sense, it is also a remote sensing technique, but the processing method for GPR data is quite different with the one for remote sensing data.
