Gene signatures characterizing driver mutations in lung squamous carcinoma are predictive of the progression of pre‐cancer lesions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
What's New? Lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) is more aggressive than lung adenocarcinoma, and is most often diagnosed at an advanced stage. Here, the authors evaluated gene expression data from LUSC tumors and came up with gene signatures for 34 genetic abnormalities whose expression changes throughout different precancerous stages. Several of these

Building a library of electrocatalysts based on single‐centered metallophthalocyanines

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
This study offers a transformative approach that facilitates the discovery of high‐performance catalysts by establishing a metallophthalocyanine‐based electrocatalyst library tailored for energy conversion processes. It will play a crucial role in advancing carbon neutrality and fostering the creation of long‐term sustainable energy ecosystems ...

Sel1l preserves condylar cartilage matrix homeostasis by regulating PERK signaling

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Our study revealed that the expression of Sel1l was downregulated in OA cartilage and that Sel1l deficiency induced cartilage catabolism. Mechanistically, Sel1l depletion aberrantly activated PERK signaling and resulted in ER stress. PERK inhibition rescued the phenotype of Sel1l‐deficient chondrocytes and alleviated TMJOA pathogenesis.
