On the q -Convolution on the Line

open access: yesConstructive Approximation, 2002
I continue the investigation of a q-analogue of the convolution on the line started in a joint work with Koornwinder and based on a formal definition due to Kempf and Majid. Two different ways of approximating functions by means of the convolution and convolution of delta functions are introduced.

On the Subadditivity of the Entropy on the Sphere [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Geometric Analysis, 2015
We present a refinement of a known entropic inequality on the sphere, finding suitable conditions under which the uniform probability measure on the sphere behaves asymptomatically like the Gaussian measure on $\mathbb{R}^N$ with respect to the entropy.

Little Higgs after the little one [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
At the LHC, the Littlest Higgs Model with $T$-parity is characterised by various production channels. If the $T$-odd quarks are heavier than the exotic partners of the $W$ and the $Z$, then associated production can be as important as the pair-production

The trion: two electrons plus one hole versus one electron plus one exciton

open access: yes, 2004
We first show that, for problems dealing with trions, it is totally hopeless to use the standard many-body description in terms of electrons and holes and its associated Feynman diagrams.

Vesiculation from Pseudomonas aeruginosa under SOS

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2012
Bacterial infections can be aggravated by antibiotic treatment that induces SOS response and vesiculation. This leads to a hypothesis concerning association of SOS with vesiculation.
