Multienvironment genomic variance decomposition analysis of open-pollinated Interior spruce (Picea glauca x engelmannii). [PDF]
The advantages of open-pollinated (OP) family testing over controlled crossing (i.e., structured pedigree) are the potential to screen and rank a large number of parents and offspring with minimal cost and efforts; however, the method produces inflated ...

A variance decomposition approach to uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis of the Johnson and Ettinger model [PDF]
The Johnson and Ettinger (J&E) model is the most widely used vapor intrusion model in the United States. It is routinely used as part of hazardous waste site assessments to evaluate the potential for vapor intrusion exposure risks. This study incorporates mathematical approaches that allow sensitivity and uncertainty of the J&E model to be evaluated ...

In manufacturing, powder mixing processes are vital for ensuring product quality. The mixing progress and efficiency are determined based on the fundamental convection and diffusion mechanisms. While mixers are believed to have a unique primary mixing mechanism, recent findings from our group have verified that the main mechanism can change as the ...

A VARIANCE DECOMPOSITION ANALYSIS OF THE INFORMATION IN THE TERM STRUCTURE
AbstractBased on a market efficiency assumption, we use variance decomposition analysis to separate information in the term structure on expected future spot rates from information on time‐varying term premia and to examine the market's ability to forecast both future rate changes and excess returns on long versus short securities.

Linking bacterial life-history strategies and diversity to litter decomposition dynamics in a dry-hot valley area [PDF]
Litter decomposition is a critical ecosystem process that influences nutrient cycling and carbon sequestration, yet the role of microbial communities, especially bacteria, in driving decomposition dynamics is not well understood, particularly in stress ...

AbstractThis study attempts to analyze the role of tourism in economic growth in Egypt over the period of 1982–2011. Our empirical results reveal that economic growth, tourism, and capital stock are cointegrated. The results of TYDL causality tests indicate that tourism and economic growth is bi-directional causality.
