Haplodiploidy is the sex determination mode of all Hymenoptera. Whereas most species reproduce by arrhenotokous parthenogenesis (males develop from unfertilized eggs and females from fertilized eggs), many reproduce by thelytokous parthenogenesis (unfertilized eggs develop into diploid females).
