A generalization of a theorem of Ore

Journal of Pure and Applied Algebra, 2014
The authors extend some results known for algebraic numbers field to other types of field extensions. More precisely, let \((K,v)\) be a discrete rank one valued with valuation ring \(R\). Let \(L/K\) be a finite extension such that the integral closure \(S\) of \(R\) in \(L\) is a finitely generated \(R\)-module.

Sharpening an Ore-type version of the Corrádi–Hajnal theorem

Abhandlungen aus dem Mathematischen Seminar der Universität Hamburg, 2016
In this long paper, the authors studied an Ore-type version of the Corrádi-Hajnal theorem and resolved the difficult case when \(|G|=3k\). \textit{K. Corradi} and \textit{A. Hajnal} [Acta Math. Acad. Sci. Hung. 14, 423--439 (1963; Zbl 0118.19001)] proved that for all \(k \geq 1\) and \(n \geq 3 k\), every (simple) graph \(G\) on \(n\) vertices with ...

A Proof Of Ore's Theorem

The classical construction of the rational numbers involves consideration of certain equivalence classes of ordered pairs [(a,b)] where a and b are integers with b nonzero. An elementary generalization of this idea is Ore's Theorem which gives a necessary and sufficient condition that a ring, not necessarily commutative and not necessarily a domain of ...

A Fundamental Theorem of Natural Selection for Sex Linkage or Arrhenotoky

The American Naturalist, 1972
Equation (11) is a general equation for the change in geometric mean fitness at a male haploid or sex-linked locus when the selection intensity is small. The rate of change in fitness depends on the additive genetic variance in fitness, which is defined as the variance of the additive genotypic values when the additive model of gene action assumes no ...
