Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Primordial gravitational waves assisted by cosmological scalar perturbations

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
Primordial gravitational waves are a crucial prediction of inflation theory, and their detection through their imprints on the cosmic microwave background is actively being pursued. However, these attempts have not yet been successful.

Top-philic Z ′ forces at the LHC

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
Despite extensive searches for an additional neutral massive gauge boson at the LHC, a Z ′ at the weak scale could still be present if its couplings to the first two generations of quarks are suppressed, in which case the production in hadron colliders ...

Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

Stability of Fluctating Baby-Skyrme Brane [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences
This work studies the stability of fluctuating Baby-Skyrme brane as a model for early-time cosmology recently introduced in [1]. The dynamical system consists of two dynamical quantities (ϕ, H) with two differential equations and one constraint.

Island in charged black holes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We study the information paradox for the eternal black hole with charges on a doubly-holographic model in general dimensions, where the charged black hole on a Planck brane is coupled to the baths on the conformal boundaries. In the case of weak tension,

Trace Nickel Activated Biphasic Core‐CuOii/Shell‐CuOi Secondary Microspheres Enable Room Temperature Parts‐Per‐Trillion‐Level NO2 Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

Gravitation waves from QCD and electroweak phase transitions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We investigate the gravitation waves produced from QCD and electroweak phase transitions in the early universe by using a 5-dimension holographic QCD model and a holographic technicolor model.

An Experimental and Theoretical High Energy Physics Program [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Purdue High Energy Physics Group conducts research in experimental and theoretical elementary particle physics and experimental high energy astrophysics. Our goals, which we share with high energy physics colleagues around the world, are to understand at the most fundamental level the nature of matter, energy, space and time, and in order to ...

Physics searches at the LHC

open access: yes, 2010
With the LHC up and running, the focus of experimental and theoretical high energy physics will soon turn to an interpretation of LHC data in terms of the physics of electroweak symmetry breaking and the TeV scale.
