Investigating a problem from the theory of elasticity for a half-space with cylindrical cavities for which boundary conditions of contact type are assigned

open access: yesEastern-European Journal of Enterprise Technologies, 2018
When designing spatial structures, it is necessary to know the stressed-strained state of a body. These problems include the calculation schemes, in which there is a half-space with cylindrical cavities, at the boundaries of which the contact type ...

Unidirectional Tape‐Based Composites from Hemp and Pineapple Leaf Fiber: Mechanical Performance in Conventional and Bio‐Based Matrices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The study investigates novel semi‐finished products made of unidirectionally arranged hemp or pineapple leaf fiber‐reinforced composites produced from different matrices. The materials are analyzed in terms of their mechanical and interfacial properties and void content.

Hydrophobic Mismatch Controls the Mode of Membrane-Mediated Interactions of Transmembrane Peptides

open access: yesMembranes, 2022
Various cellular processes require the concerted cooperative action of proteins. The possibility for such synchronization implies the occurrence of specific long-range interactions between the involved protein participants.

Elasticity Theory of Macromolecular Aggregates

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2012
We present a version of continuum elasticity theory applicable to aggregates of functional biomolecules at length scales comparable to that of the component molecules. Unlike classical elasticity theory, the stress and strain fields have mathematical discontinuities along the interfaces of the macromolecules, due to conformational incompatibility and ...

Atomic scale lattice distortions and domain wall profiles

open access: yes, 2003
We present an atomic scale theory of lattice distortions using strain related variables and their constraint equations. Our approach connects constrained {\it atomic length} scale variations to {\it continuum} elasticity and describes elasticity at ...

Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.
