Therapeutic implications of clay palm press ceramic art practice

open access: yesCogent Arts & Humanities
Individuals with various health conditions or illnesses may require different therapeutic interventions to restore total or partial functioning. In low-and middle-income countries, mainly in the global South, these therapeutic options may not be widely ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

A Groundbreaking Electric Field‐Induced Cascade Gas Therapy Against Large Volume Solid Tumor Through Electro‐Stress Storm

open access: yesExploration
Gas therapy has been limited in its application as a robust standalone antitumor strategy due to the restricted gas production and cytotoxicity. To address this challenge, we employed electrotoxic PtRu composite metal nano‐berries (PR) loaded with ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

“Doctor, if it were you, which would you choose?”: Navigating personal preference questions in anti‐amyloid immunotherapy selection

open access: yesAlzheimer’s & Dementia: Diagnosis, Assessment & Disease Monitoring
The approval of lecanemab and donanemab represents a watershed moment in Alzheimer Disease (AD) treatment, yet clinicians face a novel challenge: guiding patients through treatment selection when head‐to‐head comparative data are absent.

Cell Membrane Biophysics as a Therapeutic Interface for Nanomedicine: From Disease-Associated Remodeling to Translational Qualification

open access: yesCells
Nanomedicine has yielded clinically useful platforms, including liposomes, albumin-bound nanoparticles, and lipid nanoparticles; yet, many systems translate poorly because of nonspecific biodistribution, limited target-site accumulation, inefficient ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Artificial Intelligence in Mental Health Services Under Illinois Public Act 104‐0054: Legal Boundaries and a Framework for Establishing Safe, Effective AI Tools

open access: yesJMIR Mental Health
Artificial intelligence (AI) applications in mental health have expanded rapidly, and consumers are already using freely available generative AI models for self-guided mental health support despite limited clinical validation.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
