The use of an imageless robotic system in revision of unicompartmental knee arthroplasty
Abstract Purpose The application of robotics in revision arthroplasty particularly from unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) to total knee arthroplasty (TKA), is underexplored. The purpose of this study is to describe the surgical technique of an imageless robotic system used in the revision of UKA to TKA and to evaluate short‐ to mid‐term outcomes.

RADA‐16 Reduces Postoperative Epistaxis After Inferior Turbinate Submucosal Resection
RADA‐16 is a self‐assembling peptide matrix that forms a hydrogel structure, showing potential for enhanced wound healing and hemostasis. In this retrospective cohort study, postoperative bleeding rates were compared between patients treated with RADA‐16 and those without, demonstrating an association between RADA‐16 use and decreased rates of ...

Abstract Objective Although previous studies suggest an increased stroke risk in head and neck cancer (HNC) survivors, the risk with various treatment modalities, including radiotherapy, is less certain. This study investigates stroke incidence and risk in HNC patients, including how different treatments influence stroke risk. Data Sources A literature

A Comprehensive Numerical Approach to Coil Placement in Cerebral Aneurysms: Mathematical Modeling and In Silico Occlusion Classification [PDF]
Endovascular coil embolization is one of the primary treatment techniques for cerebral aneurysms. Although it is a well established and minimally invasive method, it bears the risk of sub-optimal coil placement which can lead to incomplete occlusion of the aneurysm possibly causing recurrence.

Cross-Phase Mutual Learning Framework for Pulmonary Embolism Identification on Non-Contrast CT Scans [PDF]
Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a life-threatening condition where rapid and accurate diagnosis is imperative yet difficult due to predominantly atypical symptomatology. Computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) is acknowledged as the gold standard imaging tool in clinics, yet it can be contraindicated for emergency department (ED) patients and ...
