A new simple therapeutic method for chronic subdural hematoma without irrigation and drainage

Acta Neurochirurgica, 2006
We developed a new simple therapeutic method for the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) without irrigation and drainage. This method is characterized by replacement of the hematoma with oxygen.Seventy patients (seventy-eight sides) with CSDH were treated with this method from May 1994 to October 2002.

Achieving Cochlear Therapeutic Hypothermia through Irrigation of the Mastoid and Tympanic Cavities

Audiology and Neurotology
Introduction: Mild therapeutic hypothermia (MTH) is an exciting nonpharmaceutical otoprotection strategy. In this study, we applied simple irrigation of the tympanic and mastoid cavities to understand the timing of both achieving MTH and recovery back to euthermic temperatures for application in the clinical ...

Prophylactic and Therapeutic Carboprost Tromethamine Bladder Irrigation in Rats with Cyclophosphamide-Induced Hemorrhagic Cystitis

Journal of Urology, 1992
Recently, prostaglandins have been shown to be effective agents for the treatment of cyclophosphamide-induced hemorrhagic cystitis. Among the prostaglandins studied is carboprost tromethamine, a PGF2a analog. To determine the effectiveness of carboprost tromethamine therapy on the urothelium, we induced hemorrhagic cystitis in 81 rats.

Bipolar irrigated radiofrequency ablation: A therapeutic option for refractory intramural atrial and ventricular tachycardia circuits

Heart Rhythm, 2012
Irrigated radiofrequency (RF) ablation can be insufficient to eliminate intramurally located septal atrial flutter (AFL) and ventricular tachycardia (VT) circuits. Bipolar ablation between 2 ablation catheters may be considered for such circuits. To evaluate the utility of bipolar irrigated ablation to terminate arrhythmias resistant to unipolar ...

Budesonide nasal irrigation for chronic rhinosinusitis: a meta-analysis of therapeutic outcomes and safety profile

Rhinology Journal
Background: Corticosteroids are used in managing Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS) through several formulations, including oral steroids and nasal sprays. What Are the Optimal Irrigating Wound Vacuum Parameters When Using Bacteriophage Therapeutics?

Surgical Infections
Objective: Bacteriophages are promising adjuvant anti-biofilm agents. Yet novel ways to repeatedly administer bacteriophages in vivo are needed. One technique utilizes irrigating wound vacuum systems. However, the proper parameters to use with bacteriophages are poorly defined.
