The small quinolone derived compound HT61 enhances the effect of tobramycin against Pseudomonas aeruginosa in vitro and in vivo. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
HT61 is a small quinolone-derived compound previously demonstrated to exhibit bactericidal activity against gram-positive bacteria including methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). When

GABAB receptor allosteric modulators exhibit pathway-dependent and species-selective activity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Positive modulation of the GABAB receptor (GABABR) represents a potentially useful therapeutic approach for the treatment of nicotine addiction. The positive allosteric modulators (PAMs) of GABABR GS39783 and BHF177 enhance GABA-stimulated [35S]GTP γS ...

P2RX7 inhibitor suppresses exosome secretion and disease phenotype in P301S tau transgenic mice

open access: yesMolecular Neurodegeneration, 2020
Background Neuronal accumulation of misfolded microtubule-associated protein tau is a hallmark of neuropathology in Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, and other tauopathies, and has been a therapeutic target. Microglia can spread tau pathology

Year in Review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
If examination of journal performance is a surrogate for the vitality of a discipline, the continued ascension of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (CPT) bodes well for the evolution and practice of human therapeutics in this decade.

ERBIN limits epithelial cell plasticity via suppression of TGF‐β signaling

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In breast and lung cancer patients, low ERBIN expression correlates with poor clinical outcomes. Here, we show that ERBIN inhibits TGF‐β‐induced epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in NMuMG breast and A549 lung adenocarcinoma cell lines. ERBIN suppresses TGF‐β/SMAD signaling and reduces TGF‐β‐induced ERK phosphorylation.
