Thermal control in graphene nanoribbons: thermal valve, thermal switch and thermal amplifier

Nanoscale, 2012
We study the thermal transport in graphene nanoribbons by using nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations. It is reported that the three-terminal graphene nanoribbons can perform some functions of thermal devices such as thermal valve, thermal switch and thermal amplifier. Electronic devices have transformed almost all aspects of our lives.

THERMAL INJURY

Critical Care Clinics, 1999
Intensive care management of severely burned patients demands expertise in several areas. These include airway management, fluid resuscitation, support of the hypermetabolic response, infection control, and treatment of smoke inhalation injury. Surgical management of the burn wound, plastic reconstruction, and long-term rehabilitation are also ...

Thermal Stress and Thermal Comfort

Ergonomics, 1973
The factors which determine the level of heat stress and the difficulties inherent in its measurement are discussed. The degree of thermal comfort or discomfort is shown to he a useful measure of thermal stress and methods for the determination of the preferred temperature are described.

Thermal comfort

2018
The processes of thermoregulation are roughly divided into two categories: autonomic and behavioral. Behavioral thermoregulation alone does not have the capacity to regulate core temperature, as autonomic thermoregulation. However, behavioral thermoregulation is often utilized to maintain core temperature in a normal environment and is critical for ...

Thermal Capsulorrhaphy

Orthopedics, 2004
Thermal capsulorrhaphy was introduced over the past decade and enjoyed several years of enthusiastic support. However, longer follow-up has demonstrated inconsistent clinical results and concern about major complications.
