Thermal analysis of polymer blends and double layer by DSC

Polymers and Polymer Composites, 2020
Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is considered one of the most adaptable thermal analysis characterization techniques. It can be applied to polymers and their blends, composites, multilayer to study various thermodynamic processes like glass ...

Micro-thermal analysis: scanning thermal microscopy and localised thermal analysis

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 1999
Micro-thermal analysis combines the imaging capabilities of atomic force microscopy with the ability to characterise, with high spatial resolution, the thermal behaviour of materials. The conventional AFM tip is replaced by a miniature heater/thermometer which enables a surface to be visualised according to its response to the input of heat (in ...

Thermal runaway by thermal analysis

Thermochimica Acta, 1990
Abstract The effect of heating rate on thermal runaway has been investigated by thermal analysis. For the materials studied in the present work there was an increase in the ignition temperature as the heating rate was increased. At high heating rates the effect was largely determined by the thermal relaxation time.

High-Temperature Behavior and Surface Chemistry of Carbide MXenes Studied by Thermal Analysis

Chemistry of Materials, 2019
Two-dimensional (2D) transition-metal carbides and nitrides (MXenes) have attracted significant attention due to their electronic, electrochemical, chemical, and optical properties. However, understanding of their thermal stability is still lacking.

Thermal analysis of amalgams

Dental Materials, 1988
Abstract This study provides further information about the thermal behavior of dental amalgams. A differential thermal analyzer with a thermogravimetric analyzer, and a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) were employed to examine the thermal stability and phase changes of low and high-copper amalgams.

Analysis of thermal images

Biomedical Engineering, 1980
Broad introduction of thermovision systems in medical practice, and their multifunctional intension make it necessary to find new, more effective ways to processing and analysis of thermal patterns. Acception of these methods in medicine should provide higher diagnostic accuracy and informativeness of thermovision.

The automation of thermal analysis instrumentation: differential thermal analysis

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1970
Abstract An automated DTA instrument is described which is capable of studying eight individual samples, each contained in a glass capillary tube, in a sequential manner. The samples are automatically introduced into the furnace, pyrolyzed to a preselected temperature limit, and then removed. After the furnace has been cooled back to room temperature,

BUNDLE FLOWLINE THERMAL ANALYSIS

Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1997
Summary The bundle flowline involves packaging multiple flowlines, control, and injection lines within a single carrier pipe. A bundle is claimed to provide an effective means of insulating flowlines by use of low-cost materials; however, no rigorous heat transfer analysis of bundled flowline systems has been offered by the literature or

Thermal Analysis of Polymers

Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 1990
According to the definition originally proposed in 1969 by the Nomenclature Committee of the International Confederation for Thermal Analysis (ICTA) and later reaffirmed in 1978, thermal analysis includes a group of analytical methods by which a physical property of a substance is measured as a function of temperature while the substance is subjected ...
