Mitigating Creep Anisotropy and Enhancing Performance in Additively Manufactured Ni‐Based Superalloys: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing introduces pronounced microstructural and crystallographic anisotropy in Ni‐based superalloys, resulting in orientation‐dependent creep deformation and damage. This review identifies the key microstructural origins of creep anisotropy, examines their influence on dominant deformation mechanisms, and highlights processing ...

Performance evaluation of thermal bridge mitigation strategies against the mould growth

open access: yesGrađevinar
This study investigates mould/fungi growth risk on two different approaches of thermal bridge mitigation. Thermally insulated balconies and thermally broken balconies in Zero Emission Building (ZEB) are reviewed. Linear thermal transmittance (ψ - value),

Electrodeposition in Structural Lattices of Variable Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Electrodeposition enables geometry‐sensitive, autonomous void filling while simultaneously tuning chemical and mechanical properties. The development of approaches that can autonomously fill and heal material voids and yield composites with tailorable properties is increasingly relevant in engineering.

Feasibility Study of Strengthening Existing Single Span Steel Beam Concrete Deck Bridges; HR-214, June 1961 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1961
Iowa has the same problem that confronts most states in the United States: many bridges constructed more than 20 years ago either have deteriorated to the point that they are inadequate for original design loads or have been rendered inadequate by ...

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Parametric Analysis of Steel Studs to Reduce Thermal Bridges in Light Steel Framing Construction Systems

open access: yesBuildings
Thermal bridges significantly affect the thermal performance of light steel framing systems due to the high thermal conductivity of steel. The objective of this study is to identify modifications on the steel profiles to reduce heat flux and improve the ...

Wearable Smart Patches on Sustainable Chitosan With Reversible Microbial Growth‐Inhibitory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chitosan, a polysaccharide upcycled from biowaste, has long promised sustainable, biocompatible, and antimicrobial films and devices, an appeal reinforced by its recent regulatory recognition, with several chitosan‐based antibacterial dressings gaining clearance through the Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) pathway.
