Adaptive Thermal Error Compensation Model of a Horizontal Machining Centre [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The state-of-the-art method to reduceCNCmachine tool thermal errors is real-time error compensation based on the thermal error estimation models. However, it is difficult to establish a thermal error compensation model with good versatility, high ...

Negative Thermal Expansion in the Materials With Giant Magnetocaloric Effect

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2018
Negative thermal expansion (NTE) behaviors in the materials with giant magnetocaloric effects (MCE) have been reviewed. Attentions are mainly focused on the hexagonal Ni2In-type MM'X compounds.

New Hydraulic Sensor for Distributed and Automated Displacement Measurements with Temperature Compensation System

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Structural health monitoring (SHM) is a challenging task, especially in the context of ground and geotechnical structures. They are characterized by a set of random mechanical parameters, depending on the location but also changing with external ...

Temperature compensated crystal oscillator design in Keysight ADS

open access: yesОмский научный вестник, 2023
The article proposes an all-embracing approach to designing a temperature compensated crystal oscillator in Keysight ADS CAD system, which allows: to investigate the conditions for the occurrence of self-oscillations in a given oscillator circuit ...

Mechanism and Compensation of Measurement Error Induced by Thermal Deformation of Digital Camera in Photo Mechanics

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
A thermal-induced measurement error induced by thermal deformation of digital camera in photo mechanics methods that has the same magnitude of the error as that in the resistance strain measurement method reduces the accuracy of high-precision ...

Timepix3: Compensation of Thermal Distortion of Energy Measurement

open access: yesSensors, 2023
The Timepix3 is a hybrid pixellated radiation detector consisting of a 256 px × 256 px radiation-sensitive matrix. Research has shown that it is susceptible to energy spectrum distortion due to temperature variations. This can lead to a relative measurement error of up to 35% in the tested temperature range of 10 °C to 70 °C.

Thermal effects and their compensation in Advanced Virgo

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2012
Thermal effects in the test masses of the gravitational waves interferometric detectors may result in a strong limitation to their operation and sensitivity. Already in initial LIGO and Virgo, these effects have been observed and required the installation of dedicated compensation systems.

Multipass amplifiers with self-compensation of the thermal lens [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Optics, 2018
We present a novel architecture for a multi-pass amplifier based on a succession of optical Fourier transforms and short propagations that shows a superior stability for variations of the thermal lens compared to state-of-the-art 4f-based amplifiers. We found that the proposed multi-pass amplifier is robust to variations of the active medium dioptric ...

Use of a compensation parameter in the thermal decomposition of copolymers [PDF]

open access: yesThermochimica Acta, 1986
During the past 25 years, thermal techniques have been widely used to study the kinetics of solid state decomposition reactions. In principle, one should find prodigious data on homopolymers, to facilitate the interpretation of the thermal decomposition behaviour of copolymers.

Temperature modulates the effects of ocean acidification on intestinal ion transport in Atlantic cod, Gadus morhua

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2016
CO2-driven seawater acidification has been demonstrated to enhance intestinal bicarbonate secretion rates in teleosts, leading to an increased release of CaCO3 under simulated ocean acidification scenarios.
