Crystal structure dependent thermal conductivity in two-dimensional phononic crystal nanostructures [PDF]
Thermal phonon transport in square- and triangular-lattice Si phononic crystal (PnC) nanostructures with a period of 300 nm was investigated by measuring the thermal conductivity using micrometer-scale time-domain thermoreflectance. The placement of circular nanoholes has a strong influence on thermal conductivity when the periodicity is within the ...

Radiative thermal conduction fronts [PDF]
The discovery of the O VI interstellar absorption lines in our Galaxy by the Copernicus observatory was a turning point in our understanding of the Interstellar Medium (ISM). It implied the presence of widespread hot (approx.

A Novel Simulation Approach for Damage Evolution during Tailored Forming
Traditional damage models are struggling to accurately and efficiently simulate large‐scale three‐dimensional models with a great number of degrees of freedoms. A new gradient‐enhanced damage model based on the extended Hamilton principle can significantly reduce the computation time while ensuring mesh‐independence which is suitable to use in tailored

Mechanisms of De‐icing by Surface Rayleigh and Plate Lamb Acoustic Waves
Ice accretion impacts daily life, renewable energy generation, maintenance, and security in industries and aeronautics. Acoustic waves (AW) are a promising method for ice removal, although de‐icing mechanisms require further investigation to optimize energy efficiency.
